AFMI Medal Program is a two day annual convention (which taken place in India)where Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals are awarded to top 3 Indian Muslim students statewise(/union territory) for achieving highest scores in Class X and XII in their respective states(/union territory). The Convention is followed by educational sessions delivered by great scholars, educationists, businessmen, leaders etc from across the globe.

The Program Usually happens in the last week of December every year in different cities of India. The dates and venue for the next year are always announced in the convention and published in the major national and state media outlets. “Eligibility Criteria : Indian Muslim Students who secured at least 75% and above in S.S.C. (Class X) and H.S.C. (Class XII) Board examination can apply for AFMI medal.
Process to apply for AFMI medal : Post/Courier mail containing attested copy of Marksheet, two passport size photographs and a simple application requesting the student to be considered for medal program of that year to AFMI India Office(address : N.B. Complex, Pirbordi Chakla, Kadi-382715(North Gujarat).Phone : 02764-263855. Email : afmi12@yahoo.co.in).
Applicants please ensure to mention correct Contact details in English – address, phone number and email id(if any) for communication.”

Eligible students can start applying for medal as soon as the board results are declared. The Cutoff or last date to apply is usually end of August.

After receiving all the applications along with marks sheet, the data is fed in computer, tabulated and highest scorers are declared after verifying from the head office.

By End of September all the candidates are informed by mail whether they are winners or not. And if a student is not a winner he or she is informed who the winners are in his/her state and the percentage they have received.
Lodging, boarding and travel (2nd class rail fare from origination to the convention venue) is provided to all medal winners and their one accompanying parent or a relative.

Scholarship in India Related FAQ

Scholarships are provided on need and merit basis to Indian Muslim Students.
The only criteria for providing scholarship to Muslim Students is need and merit basis.

“Procedure to apply for AFMI scholarship:
Application to be sent to AFMI head office(address : 29008 W 8 Mile Rd, Farmington, MI-48336, USA.
Phone : +1-248-442-2364). Along with proofs of admission in college/university, Family income details and proofs.
The scholarship is continued to next year/semester based on candidate’s performance in previous year/semester exam.

The amount is decided by the AFMI board on case to case basis depending on applicants eligibility, AFMI resources, financial condition of the candidate and his family, the course fee etc.
Scholarships are provided on need and merit basis to Indian Muslim Students.

Abroad assistance Related FAQ

No AFMI doesn’t provide any scholarship for studies abroad. If such requests come up to AFMI, the candidates are advised and guided where they can look for assistance for studies abroad.

Yes. Some of the past medalists have volunteered to provide counseling in their capacity to assist students with their queries pertaining to higher education abroad.

Past Medalists Related FAQ

Medalists can later join AFMI as member of ‘AFMI Medalist Association’ and assist in promoting literacy and education.

There is no formal forum for such interactions, however medalists can always write email to AFMI india or US email addresses.

Donation Related FAQ

“Fund donations are accepted from NRI’s/citizens living in USA or Canada in a USA Dollar denominated currency. Donations from other parts of the world will be accepted if it meets USA banking criteria. Donors bank should be able to tell the donor whether USA bank will accept it or not.

Regarding academic material/books etc donation, AFMI currently doesn’t have mechanism to handle this. If someone is interested to donate such stuff AFMI can assist/channelize the donation may be locally or by publishing this on the website by connecting the Donor and the needy student.”
